TWO SEASONS
IN THE FALL
The Fall competitive season runs from November through the Holiday Break. The final competition of the fall season is the DDCA Category Championships. Fall competitions include the following categories: kick, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, pom & novelty.The event director can choose to break the categories into different divisions based on the size of team entering (ex: sm, int, lrg) and not necessarily based on school size (1A, 2A, 3A, etc.). IN THE WINTER
The Winter competitive season runs from January to mid-March. The fnial competition of the winter season is the OSAA State Dance and Drill Championships. The Winter competitve season has two different categories, Dance/Drill and Show.
The event director can choose to break the categories into different divisions based on the size of team entering (ex: sm, int, lrg) and not necessarily based on school size (1A, 2A, 3A, etc.) Show and Dance/Drill teams may not compete against each other. The OSAA State Dance/Drill Championships separates all Dance/Drill Teams by 1A/2A/3A, 4A, 5A sm, 5A lrg, 6A sm, 6A lrg. The Show Teams compete in one division.
